Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Xsolla.
Software Developer
Weirdest experience ever. During the screening call, the HR asked if I could promise to join if an offer was made, stressing the interviewer's time and effort. For the technical interview, the interviewer was late and couldn't clearly explain the questions, only asking vague things like 'how do you divide a microservice?'
- Can you commit to joining if an offer is extended, considering the interviewer's investment of time and effort?
Software Engineer
The process is good overall, the interviewer will record on your introduction and experience to give to P.I.C for further evaluation for the next step, either manager or seniors that responsible for the evaluation.
- Tell me about your experience and skills.
Software Engineer
After I got off the phone with the recruiter, I was given a take-home assignment. I had to build a game and mostly work on the back-end API in PHP and front-end in JavaScript. I also had to write unit tests and dockerize the apps. The final interview was with the Software Engineer Manager. The worst part is that after all that, I found out the position was put on hold because of budget constraints.
- Tell me about your coding challenges.
- Tell me about your background.
- Do you have any general technical questions?
