The XPO Logistics interview for an apprenticeship usually goes through a few steps. First, the HR team checks the CV and cover letter. Then, you’ll have a phone or video call with HR to talk about your background, why you want the job, and what you know about the company. After that, the manager will have a more technical chat about the job duties, the skills needed, and maybe some practice scenarios. Finally, you’ll hear back with a yes or no within a few days.

DO NOT APPLY HERE. This company is super unprofessional. They'll make you reschedule to fit their interview times, even if it's inconvenient for you, because they want to decide within 24 hours. They'll give you some BS reason about needing to decide fast. After my interview, the manager said they'd get back to me in a week. I wish I'd said, "Are you sure? That's not what HR told me." Two weeks later, still no contact, no email, nothing. Do yourself a favor and find another company for your next job. Oh, and make sure you have multiple copies of your resume. They took mine, rolled it up like a newspaper, and unrolled it right in front of me. It felt really disrespectful and insulting.

The process started with a phone screen, then talks with a dotted-line Director and the HR Director. Since I was out-of-state, the in-person interview in NC would be last. The first round of interviews was in Oct 2014 (8 months ago) for a Senior Business Analyst (Oracle Applications) or Oracle Business Systems Manager role. I have a Master's in Finance and 12+ years as a BA, with Oracle functional/some technical skills from Fortune 100 companies. XPO management seemed confused about my fit and possibly couldn't meet my salary/relocation needs. They passed, and I was fine. The second round was in Jan 2015 (4 months ago), same situation. They voiced concerns about my skillset/experience. They passed, and I was disappointed. They hired a local candidate who left after a couple months. The third round was in May 2015. I sent in Oracle ARIS BPA samples, which were robust and technical. I spoke again with someone from the first two rounds. Feeling I had little new to add, I restated my interest in relocating and building a team. I mentioned I'd been day trading their stock since Oct 2014, making good money. We discussed the previous hire/departure and training new people using my background. We talked about a potential Friday, May 15th trip to NC to meet her, the CFO, Controller, IT Director, and potential direct reports. The recruiter called the next day stating I lacked Oracle skills and they passed, which made me laugh.
