So at Xoriant, the process had a few steps. First, there was an online assessment with MCQs on aptitude, programming basics, and core CS stuff, mostly checking if I knew the theory and could think fast. Then, I had two technical interviews. The first one was about programming basics, data structures, and algorithms, plus explaining my academic projects to see if I got the core concepts. The second technical interview was tougher, with scenario-based and practical questions, and I had to go into more detail about my projects, focusing on how I actually use my knowledge. After that, there was a managerial interview where we talked about problem-solving, teamwork, and how I deal with situations – it was more of a chat than a strict technical test. Finally, an HR interview wrapped things up, covering my background, strengths, career goals, and stuff like joining, relocating, and expectations. All in all, it was a pretty smooth and organized process, with each stage testing different skills.

So I was interviewing for a Senior Golang Developer role. The recruiter contacted me about an urgent opening and mentioned it would be 2-3 rounds. I passed the first one, but it's been over a month with no news on the second round. Every time I check in, she says they're waiting for interview slots from the client. It's kind of weird, they said it was urgent and couldn't wait 30 days for a candidate, but it's taking them over 30 days to just set up the next round. Now she's not even answering my calls.

Applied via LinkedIn and a recruiter reached out for a Zoom technical round. It went great, focusing on Java, OOP, and DS&A. I felt I nailed it and the interviewer said I'd move to the next round. But then, the next day, the same recruiter called saying I was rejected, no real reason given. This sudden change was confusing and felt unprofessional, making me wonder if they favor referrals over other applicants. It was a letdown after good feedback during the tech round. My advice is to be careful and not get your hopes up if you're not referred. Even a good performance isn't a guarantee. Companies should really improve communication and make sure interview feedback aligns with final decisions. Candidates put in effort and deserve transparency.
