Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Xerox.
Account Executive
very easy going interviewer was a professional that asked about my background related to the industry. Then we talked about my approach to sales and my ability to move the sale within the funnel process. We also talked about my ideal day and what makes me tick. there was a discussion about the desired salary and saw my customer base. How do I relate to people and what type of accounts I have currently worked with.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- How did you discover this opportunity?
- What makes you want to join our company?
Sales Executive
I interviewed and felt really good about the role. I was led to believe an offer would be extended, but 5 months later, there's still no offer. I'm still hopeful because the economy has slowed hiring everywhere, but the long process is discouraging. The interviewers were looking for evidence of "real sales experience." I think Xerox believes their industry and company are the only valid sales environments. Be prepared to show your track record in hunting down opportunities and growing a territory. Ask them questions about the path of progression, training, and service response time.
- How would you approach selling the Xerox brand given the current economic climate?
- Can you share your experience in identifying and developing new sales opportunities and expanding a territory?
- What are the opportunities for career advancement within the company?
Inside Sales Executive
I had an initial 30 min. phone interview where they asked me basic background questions. Then, there was a 2 hour face-to-face interview with 3 managers. They mostly asked me behavioral questions about my past work and education. Lastly, I had to write a one-page essay to the HR Manager about why I was the best fit for the job.
