I attended a walk-in interview on a Saturday at 11 AM for a Java Full Stack Developer position. The interview had 4 rounds. The first round was a 30-minute online test with 20 technical and 10 aptitude questions. This was followed by two face-to-face rounds. The second F2F round focused on core technical topics like Core Java, Spring, Hibernate, and front-end technologies. The third F2F round was conducted by two senior individuals who asked in-depth questions about my projects, roles, and responsibilities. Finally, there was an HR round.

The interview process started with a telephonic technical discussion with a panel of 2 people. They began with basic concepts and then went into detail on each topic. The second round was an in-person interview with another panel of 2. This round also involved a technical interview, but it was easier than the previous one. The final round was a managerial interview conducted over the phone. The entire process was completed within one week.

I had a phone interview with people who were onsite, then a face-to-face round. After that, there was a long wait for HR. They had to discuss and decide even though my feedback was good. I got a call from HR saying they were looking for a 'Dream Developer' who could work with Scala and Spark. I mentioned I didn't have hands-on Spark experience but was proficient in Scala, Akka, Akka-HTTP, Kafka, Jenkins, etc., and could learn Spark quickly, expressing excitement about their project using Spark. The HR representative said they also had openings for projects without Spark and would decide where my abilities would fit best at Xavient. I agreed, and apparently, I got selected in both the phone and face-to-face rounds. The HR person said they'd talk to management and let me know. I heard nothing for a week, so I called for an update. They apologized, mentioning they were out of town and would update me upon their return. After returning, they called to say the managers needed someone with Spark experience, which was frustrating given the earlier conversation. They then scheduled another phone interview, but I still haven't received any status update about their decision.

  • Were there any basic questions from Spark?
