I applied online and had an initial HR pre-screen interview over Microsoft Teams. The meeting was recorded by HR, and they asked about my location/housing, pay, availability, and some standard behavioral and technical questions. They said my notes would go to the IT team and I'd get an email to schedule a second interview the next week, also to have references ready. But, I never got the scheduling email. I later checked the careers portal and saw my application status changed to 'not selected.'

So I had a first phone interview and then an in person interview that went fine. The next day, I interviewed with the person currently doing the job over Zoom, but their camera was off the whole time and they didn't really explain why. Then, about a week later, the company reposted the job. When I asked about it, the recruiter said that's normal. Then they reposted for a senior compensation analyst. I was pretty annoyed by then; if they didn't want to hire me, they should've just said so instead of dragging it out and lying. Also, the talent acquisition manager didn't communicate for weeks, which is how you lose candidates.

I sent in my application online and got a text a few days later to set up a phone chat. The call happened pretty quickly, only about 3-4 days after we scheduled it. They asked some really basic stuff and it lasted around 40 minutes. Everything I said was typed into a computer and sent to the company, so there were moments of quiet after I answered. I got a job offer and had to choose from a few places that were still open. I was told I'd get an email soon to either accept or turn down the offer.
