I met with the recruiter on Monday and we talked for a while about the job. They asked me to come back the next day for a job fair they were having for this and two other positions. During the career fair, those of us interested in the frontline sales roles were asked to return on Thursday for a panel interview because the managers were unable to attend. On Thursday, there were three of us interviewing for the position and four people asking questions. We were told we'd hear back within 24 hours, but that never happened.

Behavioral Other

The call center had a weird smell and ants in the kitchen area. The recruiter was nice though. The hiring manager seemed like a typical used car salesman. He asked some questionable questions, like if anyone else relies on my income or if I have family nearby. He also shared personal info about other employees, like who's getting divorced or has a child with special needs. That doesn't sound like a good work environment. Plus, one guy wore sunglasses inside the whole time, and the music they play is pretty bad.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Applied and got a call a couple days later from a corporate recruiter. He asked some basic stuff like why hospitality and why I'm job hunting. Then set up an in-person meeting and told me to wear business clothes. The in-person interview, he talked a lot about the job and company, covering the good and bad. He prepped me for the next interview, saying I needed showmanship and a joke. A few days later, I went back for the second interview. I met with 3 different managers. The first one gave me a pen, told me to pretend it's a pencil, and sell it to him. The next manager asked for a joke and again mentioned the high turnover but good income potential. The last manager asked about my strengths and weaknesses.

  • Could you try to sell me this pen?
  • What is one of your strengths?
  • What is an area you can work on?
