It was an online interview with three interviewees, but none of them turned their cameras on. The process included a 15-minute research summary in English, followed by a 5-10 minute Q&A about chemistry in Chinese. Lastly, there was a 30-minute Q&A about motivation and English level.

Had 2 interviews, first was with a careers employee for 30 minutes, then a second 30-minute interview with the manager. They asked general questions and didn't really leave room to talk about pay. They seemed really focused on making sure the role was a good fit before they'd consider hiring, almost like they were trying to get me to decide against it.

The hiring process was quick and clear. It felt really friendly. The HR person was super nice and upfront about how things would go and how long it would take. They even told me who I'd be talking to and gave me feedback as we went along.

I applied online and had an HR screen within a week, followed by a hiring manager interview. I didn't feel respected. Right at the start, they said I wasn't qualified for the position and wanted to interview me for another role. They didn't introduce the new position at all, and I didn't even get a full picture of it by the end of the interview. The questions were detailed technical questions, not overly difficult, but they questioned my credibility before understanding my project design. They also warned me multiple times about lying. I had another interview for a different position, and that went fine, so I suspect it was just the hiring manager.
