Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wunderman Thompson.
Strategist
I had 3 interviews. First with HR, then two sr. strategists, and finally a director of strategy. Everyone I spoke with was a woman and super nice. They made me feel really comfortable. The whole process took about 3 weeks.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experiences?
Strategist
A recruiter initially reached out, sparking my interest. Next, I had a great conversation with my potential manager, finding a strong intellectual connection. The team seemed great! However, my subsequent conversation with a regional leader didn't go well; it was clear we didn't click and they weren't very impressed. While I understand I won't be working directly with this person and that not everyone connects, the silence afterward was noticeable. Typically, companies at least send a polite rejection, but I haven't heard back at all.
- Can you describe your collaboration with the creative team?
- How do you typically handle creative briefs?
- Which research tools are part of your toolkit?
Strategy Director
I met with a panel online and gave a presentation of my work using the STAR method. I think they were worried that I wasn't polished enough for their client and that I might take too long to come up with solutions to problems.
- How fast can you adapt to a client's needs?
