Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WSO2.
Software Engineer
It was just a quick 5-minute chat where they decided if the candidate was a good fit. If you're applying for this, you really need to have good English skills. They didn't ask any technical questions, just some random ones.
- Tell me about the projects you've worked on.
- Have you done any freelancing?
- Have you won any competitions?
Software Engineer
I applied through their website and the interview process was pretty good. It took about a month from start to finish. In total, there were 6 interviews: two technical interviews, two more high-level technical ones, an HR chat, and then an interview with the CEO. They really focused on whether I understood the core concepts well, often presenting practical situations and asking questions based on those. They also asked detailed questions about the projects I had on my resume and some simple pseudo-code writing tasks.
- What would you do if you needed to process a huge file but didn't have much memory available?
- How would you tackle processing a large file when memory is a constraint?
- Could you describe your strategy for handling a large file given limited memory resources?
Software Engineer
The interview involved a technical screen focusing on Core Java, specifically Exception Handling and Threads API Integration, as well as REST APIs. There was also a section on Personal Projects where I had to explain my System Design choices. Finally, a Human Resources interview covered basic questions about my motivation for choosing WSO2 and my future goals.
- Could you elaborate on your understanding of Exception Handling within Core Java?
- Can you detail your experience with Threads API Integration?
- What is your knowledge of REST APIs?
