The interview had 6 rounds. First up were the Associate Technical Lead and Senior Technical Lead from the team. Then came the Associate Director and Vice President, also from the team. After that, there was an HR round and a final one with the Acting CEO. It was a really good experience overall; the interviewers were all nice and made it feel relaxed, not tense. The initial technical interviews really dug into the specifics of the job, and the next two looked at my general tech knowledge and how I solve problems, but not super detailed. The HR and CEO chats were more about getting a feel for my personality, my attitude, and if I'd fit in. The whole thing was organized, professional, and comfortable.

The interviewer asked me to share my screen and then pointed to a free location. Then, they asked me about my use of AI and its purposes, requesting specific examples. Following that, they inquired about a personal project, focusing mainly on research-related aspects.

I applied through their website and the interview process was pretty good. It took about a month from start to finish. In total, there were 6 interviews: two technical interviews, two more high-level technical ones, an HR chat, and then an interview with the CEO. They really focused on whether I understood the core concepts well, often presenting practical situations and asking questions based on those. They also asked detailed questions about the projects I had on my resume and some simple pseudo-code writing tasks.

A recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn about two months back for an interview, and then I went through 4 more interviews with really good feedback. After that, I had a call with HR where we talked about salary and start date, and they said I just had to nail the CEO interview and an offer would be made. But then, the day before my CEO interview, they texted me asking if I'd be up for moving to Austin, TX. I told them that wasn't an option right now but I could travel there if needed. The next morning, my CEO interview was canceled. I was ghosted for two weeks, and then got a call saying they needed someone more local and that I didn't get the job. I get that things change, but it's wild to me that a company that says it's transparent and has a great culture would string someone along for two months like that.
