First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Woven Planet Holdings.
Software Engineer
I applied online. First, I had a recruiter call which was okay. Then I was sent a take-home assignment due in 7 days. I worked hard on it, fixed bugs, made sure it worked, wrote a document, and suggested improvements. I thought this would be enough to move on, but I got rejected. They said company policy prevented them from giving feedback. I was confused if my take-home wasn't good enough or if they didn't like my resume, as I never spoke to the hiring manager or engineer before the take-home. The job is still open after a year.

Software Engineer
The first interview was a coding screen with a software engineer who had a more senior engineer observing. My approach to the coding question involved using associative container properties the junior engineer didn't know. It felt like I was teaching them. The on-site interviews were surprising, with four in total. Three were manager interviews, all quite similar, asking scripted behavioral questions that seemed to assess how one would handle a difficult work environment. The coding interview involved a question needing a complex combination of data structures. My solution was three times less efficient than what they were looking for. Overall, the interview process didn't give me a good impression of Woven.

Software Engineer
It was 3 zoom interviews. First was a technical one, a coding challenge in an online dev environment with the interviewer. The second was another "technical" interview, where we talked about my previous projects, the tech I used and why, and then we chatted a lot about the team and product to develop. The third and last was an hr interview, discussing my previous roles, experiences, challenges, and how they align with the company values, culture, mission and vision. I had a blast, everyone was super nice and we had deep chats about the company, their work, their background, my experiences and skills. Loved it. Didn't make it due to limited spots, but I'll try again.
- What are your thoughts on data structures and algorithms?
- Can you explain how to handle edge cases?
- Walk me through the design you ended up implementing.
