Inside Sales
I talked to 2 interviewers who said they would micromanage and I wouldn't need product knowledge, just to be able to "hook" people. They explained duties and expectations without mentioning teamwork or a positive environment. They really emphasized their scripting and ignored my current success as a sales professional, pushing their method. I'm okay with scripts, but not with being micromanaged by someone who drains all energy and enthusiasm from the sales process just because I show personality. I left knowing money or benefits wouldn't make me want to work there. I practically sprinted to my car to get away!
- Can you share a time you presented an idea that was rejected?
Sales Representative
The interview process was quite long and took a while. I had four interviews total, two over the phone, and then a Mock Sales Skit that was a few pages long. There were three people on the call asking me different scenarios. My last interview was in person. The whole thing took about 3 weeks.
- What are your typical sales questions?
- Can you do these role play scenarios?
Sales Representative
It was a 3 step process and fairly easy. I spoke with a hiring manager first, then the director of sales, then the divisions GM. The hiring manager was super nice and a great interviewer, and the two following conversations were very brief (15 mins or so) and not difficult at all.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
