Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at World Wide Technology.
Procurement Specialist
The interview process was friendly and open. They were informative about the company and its work. However, the communication regarding the outcome was poor, similar to a previous experience with this company. It felt unprofessional that inquiries about the job status were not answered, suggesting a lack of time for candidates until they are employees. The first time I interviewed, I had an in-person meeting where I was told I wasn't qualified, which could have been communicated over the phone to save time. It's been a few weeks, so I assume I didn't get the job. HR could improve their professionalism and communication style, as some candidates may not interview well but could still be great employees.
- What's your approach to learning a new system?
Supply Chain Analyst
After applying online, I heard back in about a day. Then, I had a basic HR screening a couple of days later. After that, I had a short 30-minute call with the hiring managers where they asked some basic questions about my current role and projects, plus a few light behavioral questions and some basic questions about Oracle Order to cash flow and inventory. The next week, there was another call on Webex with multiple teams, including senior managers and other SCM analysts. This round, which lasted about 2 hours, involved many questions about SCM planning, forecasting, and case scenarios.
- Can you elaborate on your experience with ASCP planning?
- What are your methods for forecasting?
- Given this business case, how would you respond?
Supply Chain Analyst
The interview process is a team interview. It's relaxed and you can see how much they truly love their jobs. They believe that when you are selected for an interview, that you can be trained for whatever position you applied for. Because of that, the interviews are more of them getting to know you and your personality to see if you will mesh well with their team. It was incredibly refreshing and it was easy to relax and be more comfortable during the interview. It was more like a conversation than an interview.
- What are your career goals?
