Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at World Wide Technology.
Engagement Manager
Got contacted on LinkedIn and they called me back. Had an initial chat about my background and what I'm qualified for. It was pretty straightforward. The recruiter was nice but set some unrealistic expectations by saying I was a strong candidate.
- Can you walk me through your experience?
- Could you share some examples of times you've worked with stakeholders?
Engagement Manager
I applied for a role, but since it was already filled, a recruiter referred me to a different position. I spoke with the recruiter, then the hiring manager. After that, I had several case interviews, and interviews with principals and directors. In total, there were 7 interview rounds. The recruiter called before the final interview to prep me and I asked about the feedback. They said they weren't privy to specifics but implied it was positive since I'd made it that far, with less than 10% of candidates reaching the final round. My last interview was on a Tuesday, and by Friday, I got an email (not a call) saying I wasn't selected over other candidates. They mentioned there was no negative feedback. World Wide Technology needs to improve their process if they're going to have so many rounds; it's disrespectful to ask candidates to invest so much time for no explanation.
- What would your closest colleagues say about you?
Engagement Manager
It was a mix of Zoom and in-person interviews, including a lunch with two interviewers. They talked about the new position and seemed unclear about the duties. The focus was on cloud solutions and not much on expanding existing accounts, as they are a new player in these areas. They mentioned needing an existing professional network to fully develop.
- Tell me about your experience with partner relationships and your existing network for business development.
