Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at World Economic Forum.
Intern
The interview was a one-hour, in-person meeting after an initial online interview. The number of interview phases can differ depending on the internship and what they are looking for. Some candidates might only have one interview, but others could have multiple.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- Which types of companies would you target?
Intern
The interview process began with a 30-minute preliminary phone call with a talent development specialist. This was followed by a 60-minute interview with the prospective supervisor. Subsequently, I was invited for a series of on-site interviews with potential colleagues, the head of the department, and another talent development specialist. These interviews covered general questions about my personality, soft and hard skills, and interests, as well as an analytical problem-solving case. The interviews were quite engaging because the interviewers shared a lot about the role and its responsibilities.
- How do you manage stressful situations and perform under pressure?
- What are your long-term career aspirations and goals for the next 5-10 years?
- Can you describe what a typical workday looks like for you?
Intern
This was a 3-round interview process. The first round was automated, followed by an interview with the hiring manager, and then a final interview. It wasn't overly challenging but required significant time and effort. I wish they would remove the first automated round.
- What role do you take on in a team setting?
