The interview process started with a HireVue assessment which included a financial test and a video interview with typical personality and game-like questions. Following that, there was a 1 hour 30 minute case study that had to be completed at a specific time. The entire process took a very long time. The initial financial test sent out was incorrect, containing nonsensical questions, and a corrected version was provided a week later. There was approximately a month's gap between each stage, and contacting recruiters was extremely difficult.

Technical Behavioral Case

So, first I had this onsite financial modelling test, and then we did some video calls over Webex. It was 3 rounds in total: first an HR screening, then I met with the hiring manager/country principal, and finally the portfolio manager. The interviews weren't too tough or too easy, just make sure you can explain your background and talk about the different investment areas IFC is involved in.

The whole process took about 5 months from application in July to offer in December. There were 3 rounds, including a financial modeling test, which seems more rigorous than for other analyst roles. The first round was an online Hirevue with 5 questions and an accounting/projection test. I should have prepared more diverse stories as I felt I repeated myself. Watch out for the deadline, you only have a few days. The second round had a 1.5-hour financial modeling test, followed by a panel interview where I had to explain my model and answers. No specific financial questions were asked in the panel, and no brainteasers. The modeling test itself wasn't too difficult, but I was nervous. The final round was a 1-hour deep dive into my experience with a top manager. They asked about my strengths and weaknesses. I was really impressed with the people and the questions asked throughout.
