Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at World Bank Group.
Analyst
The interview process wasn't handled as well as it could have been because there wasn't enough communication about the overall structure and what to expect. It was unclear what the different stages of the interview were, what each round would involve, and how feedback or next steps would be communicated. This lack of coordination caused confusion and made the process seem disorganized.
- How do you think you'll be a good fit for this position?
Analyst
I had one panel interview. It included managers and staff members. It was a mix of behavioral and technical questions, but no brain teasers. All the technical questions were related to my past experiences listed on my resume.
- Can you explain how a bond's price and yield are related?
Analyst
The interview process moved pretty quickly. First, there was a video interview with three senior team members. Then, the following week, I had a video interview with the manager. Both interviews were pretty casual and lasted about 45 minutes. They asked me a bunch of questions about my background and why I'm interested in the role. There weren't any technical questions or a super structured format. Afterward, I submitted some writing samples from my past work.
- What is your motivation for this position?
- Can you describe your responsibilities and tasks in past projects?
