Behavioral Technical

I applied through LinkedIn and was contacted by the company. The first step was an HR interview, and then they mentioned a technical team interview would follow. However, I was never scheduled for that second interview, and ultimately I was declined without it.

Behavioral Other

It took about 6 weeks from applying to get an interview call. The first interview was with HR. It was fast and formal with rapid-fire questions. The rep was clear and told me about the firm's studio structure. I learned the job was mostly hospitality-focused with some residential projects, not just residential as the JD stated. They asked about pay expectations, so be ready and don't ask for more than listed.

The interview was standard as far as questions go, but it was like the two people interviewing had never done so before. They had few questions and could not even make small talk. Maybe they just got thrown onto it last minute, or maybe it was ego-induced, but that does not seem like the best use of time for either party. Odd experience.

Behavioral Technical

I chatted with 3 managing directors about this senior technical architect role, which really felt more like a technical director's job. These guys were so arrogant and full of themselves. Would you even take a job you're overqualified for and get paid less?
