Travel Consultant
It was an on-the-spot interview when they first called. Once they saw I could converse well, they had me do 2 exams on Sabre, grammar, and writing. There was also a phone test. These weren't too hard if you have customer service experience and know the GDS they want. After passing, they emailed me to send in requirements and pick a start date.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- How long have you worked as a travel consultant?
- What is your earliest available start date?
Travel Consultant
You'll start with a knowledge test on travel and GDS systems. After that, you'll listen to a sample call and record yourself doing an intro and a quick recap. If you pass the testing phase, you'll schedule a brief 15-minute chat with a career specialist. This is your chance to make a good impression, with the testing and recording also working in your favor.
- How would you interpret a calc line?
- Describe a time you had to calm down an angry caller and explain your approach.
Travel Consultant
This was an automated online and phone process. Depending on the project, there might be an assessment. I applied online and got an email within 2 days saying I wasn't being considered. But, I saw on FB they were having an online Open House. I RSVP'd and got contacted the next day by recruiting to take an assessment test. Passing the test allowed me to start training.
- Could you role play a customer service issue over the phone with the automated system recording your responses?
