Sales Director
I did some research on the company and was pretty hyped about possibly joining. But, things went south after that. The first chat with HR was alright, they seemed to have actually read my resume. Then I did an online test. But, the three calls I had with the hiring manager were all super late, like an hour or more past the scheduled time. They also got interrupted because they had to take other calls, and one call even happened while they were standing in line for public transport. Honestly, it felt really disrespectful, and that's why I decided to drop the opportunity.
- Can you tell me about your experience selling to enterprise-level businesses?
- What's your approach to closing high-value deals?
- How do you prioritize hunting large, significant deals ('elephants') over a 'land and expand' strategy?
Sales Director
So, I was contacted by a recruiter I've known for a long time about a gig leading sales for the central US. I actually took another job in the meantime, so I didn't go forward with it then. Later, I got a chance to interview again. After an initial call with their internal recruiter and then a chat with the hiring manager, I was set to meet the hiring manager in person about three weeks later. But then, about a week into scheduling, the internal recruiter messaged me saying they're no longer working with the contract recruiter and because of that, they couldn't continue my application. So, no offer came through because the process was stopped. The interviews I did were all over the phone, but they mentioned a presentation would likely be part of the final stages.
- Can you share details about recent enterprise sales projects you've been involved in?
Sales Director
It was thorough but fair. Started with a recruiter phone call, then a call with the VP of Sales. After that, there were in-person interviews with key people, and a final presentation. It felt like a company that's growing and doing good work to hire the right people.
- Can you tell me about a strategic enterprise-level sale you successfully closed?
