First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WorkFusion.
Senior QA Automation Engineer
The interview process at Workfusion had two stages. The first was a brief chat with a senior QA team member from the NYC office to go over my profile and past work experience, including some logic questions and an intro to the company. The second round was a technical interview focused on the technical test I submitted and included questions about Java and Selenium to check my basic coding skills. The overall experience was positive and matched what I've done before and what the job description asked for.
- How do you find an xpath that contains specific text?
- Can you answer some basic Object Oriented Programming questions?
Sales Director
I did some research on the company and was pretty hyped about possibly joining. But, things went south after that. The first chat with HR was alright, they seemed to have actually read my resume. Then I did an online test. But, the three calls I had with the hiring manager were all super late, like an hour or more past the scheduled time. They also got interrupted because they had to take other calls, and one call even happened while they were standing in line for public transport. Honestly, it felt really disrespectful, and that's why I decided to drop the opportunity.
- Can you tell me about your experience selling to enterprise-level businesses?
- What's your approach to closing high-value deals?
- How do you prioritize hunting large, significant deals ('elephants') over a 'land and expand' strategy?
Marketing
Pretty standard outreach from an in-house recruiter, followed by screening calls and then an in-person with the hiring manager and other execs. Two things did not produce a great candidate experience - 1. My candidacy was not kept private from my current employer, apparently due to back-channeling (this was the only company I was conversing with at the time). My existing employer found out, confronted me and thankfully did not terminate me. 2. When I stopped the process short with a warm decline, there was no response. While not necessary, I would have appreciated a "thanks for considering us and let us know if anything changes."
- How would you approach task X to accomplish goal Y?
Executive Management
WF is growing fast in the machine learning and RPA software areas. Many senior roles, including sales are sourced by professional search agencies, as was the scenario with me. The agency was very professional and HR employee at WF contacted me within a week. I had direct access to WF executives via phone and email. Expect 3 or 4 interviews in order for both sides to know if there is a fit and allowing WorkFusion to understand technical and cultural fit.
- Could you describe your management style?
- How do you handle resolving business critical issues?
- What's your approach to building a business?
