Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Workato.
Sales
Applied through LinkedIn and got invited for a screener call. The call went well, and I was told I'd hear back soon. However, I was completely ghosted, and my follow-up messages were ignored. I applied because of their positive Glassdoor reviews, but this experience was unprofessional. My first review was removed without explanation. This is my honest experience, and if it's not approved, I suspect Workato is manipulating their ratings.
- Can you share details about your past experience?
Sales Operations
They asked a lot of random questions without much context, focusing on 'what if' scenarios and how I would respond. It felt like a test of my situational responses, where there weren't really any right or wrong answers.
- Tell me about challenges you've experienced.
- How do you go about planning?
- How do you work with colleagues?
Sales
The interview process was really efficient. There were four rounds in total. First, a screening call with the Recruiter. Then, a call with the Sales Manager and Pre-sales Lead. After that, a panel interview which was a mock discovery meeting. Finally, a call with the Head of Sales in the USA. Shoutout to the Recruiting Coordinators for being so responsive and organized. The head of sales in the US really sold the role well by highlighting the strengths of the company. The interviewers came across as humble, driven and having strong knowledge in their space. Your salary negotiation is done with the General Manager and Sales Manager, not HR. Prepare well for this as you are up against people with strong commercial acumen. Be prepared to negotiate hard. During the onboarding process, we were asked to provide data such as your race, religion, and marital status. I would like to suggest doing away with the collection of these personal data. I wonder if the collection of information could be done via a branded landing page other than Google Forms? This will create a more professional front.
- Looking back, what would you change about your past experiences?
