I got referred and the TA team hit me up a week later. After the first chat, I had a bunch of interviews: first the hiring manager, then another manager, the design lead, and the engineering head. This was like 5 interviews over a few weeks. They told me I was missing a specific skill that wasn't even in the job description. Weirdly, they thought I'd be a fit for another role. I said okay, and went through 2 more rounds: one with a different hiring manager and another with the head of engineering. Both went great, got good feedback. Then, they scheduled an eighth and "final" round with the SVP of Product. So, 8 interviews total, 8 hours talking, and everyone said I did well, but after over 2 months, they rejected me saying I didn't have the skills for the second role either. It was way too long and could have been quicker. They should have said what they really wanted upfront. Getting info from TA needed a lot of chasing, which was annoying. I did like talking to the team though, and the interviewers were cool. But it felt mismanaged. On the plus side, good practice!

A third-party recruiter reached out to me for an initial screening. After a long wait, I had my first round with the Hiring Manager. I thought I did well, but the hiring manager didn't think I was persuasive enough. It was disappointing that I had to chase the recruiter for feedback, though she was helpful. Workato didn't provide any feedback.

There were 5 rounds of interviews, not counting the initial HR screening. It was planned for 4 rounds, but they added an extra one because the reporting line changed. The rounds were: 1. Interview with the person who would be my hiring manager. 2. Interview with a peer from the Product team. 3. Interview with a peer from Engineering (cross-functional). 4. Interview with the CPO. 5. The extra round was with the new potential hiring manager.
