Workato wants to ensure that this is the right fit for you, just as much as they want to ensure that it's the right fit for them. Before the formal interview process, I had a conversational interview with the HM so he could better understand my interest in Workato, what motivated me, my career goals, etc. The entire process was efficient, and I received feedback quickly after each round, completing the process in just over two weeks. The challenge round was difficult and requires a lot of preparation, but it was immensely helpful in learning the platform and I felt better prepared for my first day. Throughout the process, the hiring team was genuinely invested in my success, offering resources and guidance at every step. This culture of collaboration, transparency and support was a key factor in my excitement about joining Workato.

I spoke with a recruiter, and then they just ghosted me. They mentioned the team was interested and that my experience seemed like a good match, saying they'd circle back by the end of the week. Even after I followed up a couple of times over the next few weeks, I never heard anything back. It's really not that hard to let a candidate know if they aren't a fit, but at least some kind of communication, whether it's good news or bad, should be standard practice for recruiters and companies these days.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process had 7 rounds: HR, Hiring Manager, Peer, Head of Sales, Head of Technical Services, Head of Customer Experience, and a final case study round. Everything seemed to be going great, with rave reviews from everyone, including the Head of Customer Experience who mentioned I exceeded expectations. The final round involved a case study where I was asked to get 2 certifications, and then the Hiring Manager suggested a 3rd. I agreed, seeing it as an investment. The case study required a demo of the Workato platform and a customer success plan. I spent a lot of time preparing, and my internal referrer thought my presentation would be impressive. However, after the final interview, I received an email with generic feedback that I didn't ask enough discovery questions during the case study, which I felt was unfair given the time constraints. My internal referrer later admitted he considered advising me to reconsider but didn't because I was having a positive experience. He also shared that the interview process reflects broader issues within the company.
