& Process

The interview process was pretty straightforward, with basic questions about my skills. It ran from June to September and included three interviews with the West Coast Design Lead, two Associate Principals, and a Senior Designer. I did get an offer, but I asked for an extra week to decide. Sadly, they couldn't grant it because they needed to fill the position quickly.

The interview process had a few different stages. It started with an initial email interview sent to an office overseas. Then, there was another email interview and a phone interview with the local HR team at the local office. After that, they would decide if you moved to the final stage. The questions in all the interviews were really detailed, and they seemed to be very careful about who they hired.

For a Senior/Leader role, I was asked to talk about my aspirations, strategies, and forward-thinking. I shared my research and practical experience, which was well-received. However, their process seemed inconsistent. I was interviewed by people from two locations I didn't apply to. The online interview was postponed twice, and it seemed they had more people joining from their end since only I was on video. After two interviews and agreeing on salary, I was told a third interview with management was scheduled. A few days later, when I followed up, I was informed they had no openings and to 'keep in touch, like friends.' I should have listened to the reviews I read beforehand.

I applied online and heard back within a few days for an interview at the London studio. After a chat with recruitment, I went to the office and met with two senior staff members. I presented my portfolio and discussed my software experience, and they said my background fit what they were looking for. However, I haven't heard anything since, even after emailing them a week later. It's pretty unprofessional not to respond or acknowledge my email after an in-person interview, especially since most places give an answer either way at this stage. It makes you question what it's like to work there if this is how they communicate.
