It was a simple interview process, pretty standard. They asked some basic stuff about my past employment, why I decided to move on from previous roles, and what I'm hoping to find in a new position. The managers were really relaxed and it wasn't too intense.

The managers were really nice but also wanted to make sure I was a good fit. I felt like I could talk to them easily and wasn't nervous at all. The questions were pretty direct! I had two interviews, and after the last one, the head manager offered me the job.

I was drawn to this place because of their amazing food, great service, and fun vibe. The Chino Hills location is one of my favorites, and I wanted to learn from their awesome team. I went in one morning to apply and drop off my resume. A manager scheduled me for an interview the next day. Then, 5 days later, two more managers interviewed me. The day after that, the general manager interviewed me and said she'd get back to me in a week or two. That's four interviews in total. All the interviewers were late, like 30+ minutes after our scheduled time, making me wait each time. But the managers were really nice and encouraging. They asked pretty standard and easy questions, and I felt like I had a good shot and the interviews went well. My friends and other employees thought I'd get the job. However, I know at least two other girls were interviewed for the same job that week. It's been over two weeks and I haven't heard anything from Wood Ranch, so I called them. The first manager I spoke with told me they hired someone from another location and don't have any openings right now, but there might be openings when college schedules start. A week later, I called again. With college classes starting soon, I figured they'd know if they had openings by then. The same manager said they won't know the school schedules for a few more weeks, which doesn't make sense since high school and college classes are starting or have already started. Basically, this company wasted my time for no reason, refusing to give me a clear answer. Considering how much I love this restaurant and how badly I wanted to work there, I'm really disappointed. I guess they want someone ready just in case, but I need a job. Like most people, I don't have time for their games. They don't pay enough to treat people this way. I've seen Wood Ranch in Chino Hills treat an applicant and former customer without respect, basic decency, communication, or follow-through. They've led me on for over a month, preventing me from considering other job opportunities. I understand they're a business. In business, there's no loyalty and often no decency behind the scenes. But this process was bad business. As the daughter of an entrepreneur, my father would never let his employees treat an applicant this way. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for employment. If I had one or two interviews, it would be no big deal, but they wasted my time with four interviews and weeks of waiting for an answer, and they still couldn't decide? It seems like they don't know what they want. And they definitely don't care about my time, effort, or need for a job. So I'm moving on with my job search and will encourage my friends, family, and community to spend their money elsewhere. We have plenty of great businesses and barbecues to support in Chino Hills that show ethics and consideration to everyone, whether they are customers or employees. And that's the true measure of character - how you treat everyone - those who pay you, those you pay, and those who are essentially begging to work for you.

I found the job posting online and printed out the application. I turned it in the next day. A week later, I followed up, and they told me to call back in four weeks. I did, but nothing happened for a while. Then, about a month later, they called me in for an interview.
