Operations Specialist
Got a voicemail to call back about setting up a phone screening. I called back and left a message. They called back and instead of scheduling, we did the initial phone screen, which was more in-depth than usual. Then they scheduled an in-house interview. I was told who would interview me, but only one of them showed up, and someone else replaced the other person, which was a bit weird since he was in the office. They had pre-written questions. It seemed like someone had specific things they wanted to ask. The questions were pretty standard, and the whole thing took about 30 minutes.
- Tell me about a time something went wrong and compare it to how you handled a similar situation differently on another occasion.
Operations Specialist
The interview experience was just okay. I think the manager already had someone else in mind when they posted the job, as the application was taken down a few days later. I felt they didn't ask me enough questions. After waiting for several months to apply and interview, the company didn't even let me know if I got the job or not. I only found out after the person they hired had already started working.
- What would be your approach in this role?
Operations Specialist
It started with a phone call, then they set up an in-person interview. The hiring manager was really nice and told me a lot about the job and the benefits. It felt pretty relaxed, but it moved fast. I didn't hear back for a month and a half, and then they told me I didn't get the job. They still have the job posting up and keep reposting it, so I think they ghosted me and have just been keeping the position open for over two months. I'm not trying to badmouth the company, but I think that position was just bait. Even though the requirements weren't that hard to meet, they seemed to want someone really qualified, even though the posting didn't say that.
- What value would you add to the team?
