Wix Data Engineer Interview Questions
& Process

First, there was a Zoom call with all the students applying for this role, where they introduced Wix and talked about the job. After that, we had a take-home assignment with 4 questions (2 SQL, 2 Python) that we had 3 hours to complete. The questions were mid-level. Finally, I had an interview with a team leader who asked a lot of business-related questions, making it feel more like a business analyst interview. He asked me to do some calculations, like percentages, without a calculator based on a confusing story he described on the Zoom whiteboard. He also asked me to figure out how many people are currently serving in the army.

So the interview had a few parts. First, I chatted with the hiring manager for about 20 minutes. We talked about my background and some technical stuff about ETL. Then, I got a take-home assessment with 3 SQL questions (which were the same ones they mentioned before) and one Python question. After that, I had a ZOOM interview with two potential managers. They had me do a test while they watched my screen. The test involved a table showing a sales funnel, and I had to figure out why sales dropped in the last couple of days. We then had a quick chat about my answers, and that was it.

The interview was about an hour long and started with me talking about myself and my most relevant projects. I also had to explain what draws me to this field and specifically to Wix. Then, there were some evaluation questions where I had to estimate a certain quantity. Afterwards, I was asked about my thought process in calculating that amount, focusing on the parameters I used for evaluation.
