The technical round is mainly focused on based on the role applied, then followed up with your experience in the field. Since it's a time-demanding job, you got to be headstrong. Once selected for the HR round, it's a good sign you are 80% through the interview.

It was a pretty fast process. First, a recruiter called, then I had a Zoom interview with two hiring managers. They were both pretty easy and straightforward interviews, and the interviewers made me feel really comfortable, so it didn't feel like an interview at all. I thought the second round went super well and I was expecting an offer, but two weeks later I got a standard rejection email. I emailed the recruiter for feedback, but she completely ignored me! For an entry-level role where I met all the minimum requirements, I have no idea why I was rejected, and I'll probably never know since the recruiter won't reply. I'm definitely not applying here again.

Applied via employee referral in NYC. Started with a quick phone chat asking common questions like strengths, weaknesses, and future aspirations. Then, I had an in-person interview at the office with two senior accountants. It was pretty laid-back, and we mostly discussed my resume, but also talked about extracurriculars and office life. A week later, I had a phone call with the hiring manager who focused on my feelings about the firm and whether it felt like a good match. My impression was that they understand staff accountants need a lot of training, so they were really looking at personality and a desire to learn. The whole thing took about two weeks and was pretty chill.
