It was a really good interview experience, the people I talked to were professional and friendly. The questions were tough in a good way, making me think critically and show my problem-solving abilities. It was an engaging and well-organized process overall.

It was a very awkward interview process, starting with an HR phone screen followed by a hiring manager interview. I didn't get good vibes from either conversation. It felt like they expected me to prove why they should even consider me, like I was interviewing at a FAANG company. A quick Google search and looking at Glassdoor reviews shows Wish isn't really in that category of tech companies and has some major ongoing challenges. Still, I wish them the best in the future. They do have a cool product idea.

I applied online on Linkedin for Software Engineer, Backend. A recruiter reached out to me via email with the subject "<your name> at wish, that has a nice ring to it". She then did a 30 min screening interview which seemed to be mostly for records and didn't impact my progression. After that, she immediately sent another email and booked my phone technical interview for a week later so I could prep. The interviewer was on time and asked a good OOP question that involved Algo & DS. I didn't pass because I couldn't code it in time, though I did solve it and write pseudocode.
