First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wish.
Product Designer Intern
The interview process was really smooth! It started with a take-home design challenge. Then, I was invited to a final round which included a 30-minute presentation and an app critique, also 30 minutes. They scheduled a 15-minute break during my interview.
- What attracts you to Wish?
- What do you enjoy about product design?
Product Designer
First, there was a recruiter screening, then a video interview with the head designer, which is where I was stopped. After that, there was a design example, which I think is like a test but more focused on how you would approach a problem rather than actually doing it, based on what the recruiter said. The final stage was an on-site where I had to present my design example and do 1:1s. Surprisingly, they weren't interested in my process work for design projects, which I can understand as startups may not have the time or resources for that. I'd avoid talking too much about your process since I think I presented myself as process-oriented when that wasn't what they were looking for. We talked about ourselves a bit, went into one portfolio piece, and asked each other questions. I appreciated how down to earth and honest the head designer was, no sugar coating or trying to make the company look good, just straight up raw honesty.
- What changes would you suggest for Wish?
Product Designer
I applied on LinkedIn and heard back from a recruiter via email. The company's hiring process includes a take-home assignment. After I submitted it, I had one interview where I presented my ideas to the team.
- What motivates your interest in this role and company?
