It was pretty informal, like I got in through someone I knew and then chatted with some execs about where I might fit. They mostly asked me about my interests and some behavioral stuff.

I was contacted by a recruiter. I went through 4 rounds of interviews with various people, and also did some tests. Then, I had an in-person interview with the European CEO in London. After that, I had a 5th and final round with HR. However, 30 minutes before this final interview, HR called to cancel it because their budget didn't match my salary expectations. This was frustrating because they knew my requirements from the second round and the recruiter had said we were aligned. It felt like they strung me along, only to cancel at the last minute, which was unprofessional and a waste of my time.

Behavioral Technical

I've interviewed at many financial institutions and never been ghosted for weeks without updates, especially after making good progress. This experience was disheartening. The recruiter said the role would be filled by end of March, then communication stopped. After three weeks of silence, they reached out to proceed with the next round. I even put another job offer on hold because I was really interested in this role. But then, the communication stopped again for weeks. This lack of response felt disrespectful of the time and effort candidates put in. A simple update, win or lose, would have been decent. Other reviews suggest I'm not the only one this has happened to.

I went through a recruitment agency. The first call was scheduled for 30 minutes, but it ended up being an hour long. There was no intro to the position or company, and within 3 minutes, they started asking technical questions. I didn't get a chance to ask them any questions during the whole hour. They asked about my previous projects and jobs, some Python threading questions, the speed of Python vs. C#, architectural questions, and how to handle legacy systems. They also threw in some scenario-based questions about fast delivery to customers and some behavioral questions. All of this happened in that initial meeting.
