Visual Merchandiser
It was pretty straightforward. We had three stages. First, a recruiter chat to go over the role. Then, I had to record video answers to three questions, mainly talking about my resume. Lastly, a Zoom or Teams call.
- Can you share your experience with planograms?
Merchandise Coordinator
This was a nice interview. The interviewer was friendly and cheerful, making me feel comfortable. She asked some tricky questions cleverly and politely. It was a good phone interview overall. She said she was excited and impressed by my questions about the company and role. She also mentioned she'd email me the time for a second interview with the manager soon, but I'm still waiting and hope I won't have to chase her.
- Could you give a quick overview of your previous responsibilities?
- How do your previous experiences connect with the brand we're focusing on for this interview?
Merchandise Coordinator
The whole process is done over the phone, email, Skype, and Ovoo. I only met people in person twice, once at an annual meet and greet and other times if I ran into someone while working or was on a temporary assignment. It started with emails asking about my job history. Then came phone interviews where they asked the same questions but went into more detail about the job and salary. After they decided to offer me the position, they emailed the paperwork to sign.
- Tell me about your work history.
- Can you give me more details about your work history?
- What is your job history?
Office Manager
So I went through 4 interviews for this role. Each person I talked to, when I asked them 'What do you think is the most difficult part of the job?', they basically said 'I don't think it's really all that hard'. The last person I spoke with was kind of condescending and seemed to judge me based on my appearance. They told me I was the only candidate they interviewed. By the end, they mentioned they had changed the job scope and I wouldn't be considered anymore. The hiring manager, though, was really great and helpful throughout everything. Just remember it was 4 interviews total.
- How do you handle your time management?
