Coordinator
This role involves being familiar with BEST operational standards and making sure your zone performs well against them. You'll give weekly updates on goals, pointing out any problems or chances with merchandise, the sales floor, and IBI. You'll also review the weekly MAP and CommPak, and help communicate changes about merchandise presentation, IBI, fashion trends, ads, and events. You'll need to set priorities and give direction to communicate effectively to boost sales and improve how merchandise is handled. You'll work with the AM of Merchandise to create a plan for increasing sales in departments that aren't doing well and making the most of the ones that are. Collaboration with the AM of Merchandise and the Merchandise Processing Coordinator will be key to decide on priorities for processing and getting new merchandise onto the sales floor according to standards. This includes supporting markdown functions, like doing them and overseeing the process in your zone. You'll also train and develop Sales Associates on merchandise presentation standards, help train them in general, and provide customer service to both internal and external customers. It sounds challenging and exciting! If it sounds easy or boring, it's probably not for you. But if it sounds right, you'll need strong knowledge of all merchandise presentation standards and general retail operations, including fashion trends, seasonal events, and inventory levels. Your customer service skills should include responding to Associate questions efficiently, identifying customer needs, building relationships with Associates, solving problems, and escalating complex issues. You'll also need strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening.
