Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

The whole thing took about 3 weeks. It was a mix of behavioral and technical interviews. Most of the technical interviews were practical and collaborative, but there was one where the interviewer seemed to be trying to stump me with a leet-code style question. The recruiter was really good at keeping me updated and was supportive throughout.

Had a 30 min call with the recruiter to discuss my background and interest in the role. Then a 45 min in-person with the hiring manager, focusing on behavioral questions like 'tell me about a time when'. After that, a 30 min call with 4 people where I got feedback on a cold email I had previously sent and did a live mock cold call. I think there were maybe 1 or 2 more rounds after that, but this is as far as I got. The team was great at communicating and always made the next steps clear.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The interview process was quite lengthy. I had several conversations with the recruiter, the hiring manager, senior leadership, and even the CEO. They required me to complete a project and present it. Throughout the process, they kept adding more interview rounds, which made it feel disorganized. The chat with the CEO was particularly unpleasant; he didn't ask many questions and expected me to lead the entire discussion. His responses were very brief, and he didn't help keep the conversation going. It feels like I avoided a negative situation given the high turnover at this company due to a toxic work environment. Reports suggest leadership can be abusive and overwork employees. Those who don't conform to this culture reportedly get fired or leave within a year. I'd strongly advise reconsidering if you receive an interview invitation or an offer from this company.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Interviewing at Windfall was a streamlined and efficient process. The whole process was outlined in the first call. The process consisted of a screening phone call with the recruiter, an interview with the hiring manager, a short skills test project and presentation to the hiring manager, then a call with a VP, and finally a meeting in person with the CEO. At each stage, the interviewers were prompt with their responses. Each provided candid perspective on the company, culture, and role. The recruiter reached out to provide guidance and expectations for each stage of interviews and to answer any outstanding questions. While there were a few steps, the timeline was not drawn out and I received confirmation of the next steps within a couple of days of each interview.
