The hiring process was pretty fast. It was weird though, I applied for an Executive Assistant role but the office administrator started asking me questions about an Office Manager position, which is her job. She took notes on my answers for the EA role but then switched to asking about the Office Manager role and stopped writing anything down. This made me suspicious. I got the vibe she didn't want to offer me the role, which is fine. When I asked about the next steps, she said I "had to want it." At the end, when she was walking me out, I had to stress that I was looking for an Executive Assistant or upper office management role for at least a year because she seemed dismissive. Nobody would go through a stressful 3-step interview process and then meet with 3 people for an hour if they didn't want the job. It felt insensitive given the current job market. The partner and associate were nice. She seemed nice too, but her responses and attitude made it clear I wouldn't get the job. I work in upper management and interview people myself, and I would never approach it like that.

I interviewed at WSGR in Nov 2022, starting with a phone screen and then a Teams meeting. This was followed by a 2-hour, 3-part interview where I met with groups of three attorneys who took turns interviewing me. After all that, I was ghosted. The Recruitment Specialist told me she'd be in touch within two weeks, but after that time passed and I hadn't heard anything, I waited another week before following up. I sent an email to the recruitment specialist who originally reached out to me to check the status of my application/interview, and he never responded. A month later, on a colleague's advice, I sent a follow-up to my original follow-up email, and she still didn't respond. It felt unprofessional and inconsiderate to candidates, showing me WSGR wasn't the place for me if they treat prospective employees like that. I felt my time wasn't respected, and the experience really changed my opinion of Wilson Sonsini.

I spoke with the HR hiring manager initially. After that, I met with the department manager and supervisor. The first interaction was a phone interview, followed by another phone interview. Finally, I was invited to the office for an in-person interview.
