First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wilmar.
Logistics Administrator
The interviewers were friendly. They mainly wanted to see how organized and communicative I am, how I handle details, and my ability to work with documents and coordinate with vendors and internal teams. They asked questions about situations like what I'd do if deliveries were late, shipments were missing items, or if there were errors in inventory records.

Graduate Engineer
First, I had a videocall with HR and the operations manager. After that, I visited the plant in Townsville, with travel and accommodation covered. The process finished with another videocall with a different manager. The videocalls were about 40 minutes each, and they asked a lot of questions, but it felt like a relaxed, friendly chat.
- What are the essential attributes of an engineer, and have you encountered safety-related situations or identified hazards in your experience?
- Have you had prior experience with presentations or professional interactions with others, and do you lean towards a leading or supporting role?
- Could you share an instance where you went above and beyond what was required, and what do you perceive your teammates' opinions of you to be?
Research Scientist
So this was for a machine learning research scientist role, PhD is needed. I had a phone screen with a recruiter, then they explained the interview process. The first round was a Zoom call with the hiring manager where they really dug into my CV. The second round was a 20-30 minute presentation of my recent machine learning work to a group of R&D team leads (about 10 people, 2 from HR) at their headquarters. This lasted about an hour in total and included Q&A afterwards.
- Are you interested in continuing in biology, or do you see yourself transitioning to a data science-related field?
SAP Consultant
recruiters first look at your qualifications, work history, and if you seem like a good fit for the job. If they like you, you'll have a preliminary chat, often over the phone or video, to see how you communicate and talk more about your background. If you pass that, you move on to deeper interviews. These could be one-on-one chats, group interviews with a few people, or tests to see if you have the specific skills needed, can solve problems, and would fit in with the team.
- What do you think our company's vision is for the next five years?
