The interview process was lengthy and thorough, involving multiple rounds and an interesting assessment with a psychologist. It wasn't a quick hiring process by any means, but I appreciate that they didn't make a rash decision.

So I had an interview set up to where I could travel to Nashville since I was looking to move. They arranged accommodations and communication was good. I had to take vacation days because I'm still employed, but the job seemed worth the trip and the company. I was really disappointed with Lincoln Property's professionalism in the end. I took vacation days, traveled on my own dime to Nashville, and the interview went well. I was told he wasn't really interviewing other candidates and would have his assistant send me a link for a personality test the next day. I never got the link or heard from the RPM again. After trying to follow up multiple times via email and a phone call, I just accepted I wouldn't get a response. It would have been nice to at least get a simple reply like 'we've gone in a different direction' after I made the trip and spent money. Pretty unprofessional for an upper management position.

I went through a few interviews and they were all good. The hiring manager was nice and told me about the job and what they expected. I also met with her boss, who was also nice, but she made a comment about my appearance and said something like, "we'll have you meet with the client too, since they make the final call. They might or might not like your - ." Even though I know she probably didn't mean anything bad by it, it still made me feel awkward. Your looks should never be brought up in an interview, no matter how small it seems. After that, I had two more interviews with the team and the client, and they all seemed really excited to start working together. In the final chat with the hiring manager, she said I'd get an offer by the end of the day or tomorrow because she had to sort out the pay and bonus. But the next day, I got a call saying they spoke with the client and decided against it because I didn't have "specific qualifications." I get that things happen and finishing the interview process doesn't mean a job offer is guaranteed. However, it's really misleading and unprofessional to tell a candidate they'll get an offer in 24 hours, only to pull it back less than that time later due to specific qualifications. My resume didn't change in those 24 hours, so I don't think that was the real reason. I'd suggest being less committal throughout the whole process and not verbally promising an offer, so candidates don't get misled like this.
