Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at William Hill.
Customer Experience Associate
The interview process was alright. They were a little strange at times but generally fair enough. It's not a well-run company, but honestly, a lot of companies are like that these days.
- When would you be available to start?
Customer Experience Associate
I applied online and heard back in a few days to set up a quick phone interview. It was mostly about my availability and basic questions, followed by a couple of simple questions about WH. After that call, I was invited for an in-person interview at one of their stores. The interview was really chill and friendly with two staff members. They repeated some phone interview questions and then asked four questions based on specific situations.
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a challenging customer?
- What was the outcome when you had to work independently?
- Tell me about a situation where you had a conflict with a coworker and how it was resolved.
Customer Experience Associate
I did an online application with some competency questions, which was easy. The next day, I got a call for an interview a week later. They also asked if I was eligible to work in the UK. The interview was with the area and store managers. It was relaxed, and they asked about my past jobs and got to know me. Then they asked about difficult customers, problem-solving, working alone, and initiative. I answered them. They asked for a passport photocopy, which I provided. I heard back 5 days later that I wasn't successful.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer?
