Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wiley Rein.
Paralegal
There were three stages in the interview process. First, I spoke with HR, then the hiring manager, and finally, two current paralegals. It was a friendly and low-stress experience.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a novel and challenging situation and resolved it independently?
Legal Assistant
The interview process seemed great initially, and everyone was very kind. However, I was ghosted for weeks and then received a manufactured rejection. The HR representative I was communicating with stopped responding to my messages after they decided to reject me. They waited a few months before sending a form rejection. This situation delayed my applications to other jobs.
- Could you tell me about your specific interests?
Paralegal
I interviewed a few years back and met with one attorney who made some really inappropriate comments about my resume accomplishments, suggesting I shouldn't put them on my dating profile because it might make me look nerdy. Honestly, I probably should have just left after that. I wouldn't have wanted to work there anyway.
- Do you intend to go to law school?
