Product Manager
The process had 4 stages: screening, sponsor, technical, and senior leadership. I made it to the second stage, and I was told there was a misalignment between HR and the Sponsor, and that the job requirements had changed.
- Tell me about a professional moment when you faced difficulties and how you dealt with them.
Product Manager
I applied for the role on LinkedIn and then had a chat with the recruiter. She sent me 2 tests to complete, and after that, I was supposed to have a talk with a director. I did the tests (they were tough and all in English, by the way) and then the recruiter ghosted me. She only replied about the results after I emailed her 3 weeks later, saying, “We’ve already closed with another candidate, but feel free to reach out again in 3 months.” Definitely one of the worst interview processes I've been through.
- Do you like games? What are your favorites?
Product Manager
So my interview process had 4 steps. First was with HR, where they talked about the company history, the role, and asked basic CV questions like my background, strengths/weaknesses, and why I wanted the job. Then I had my first interview with a PM, which was pretty similar to the HR one, just a bit more technical about my background. After that was the second interview with another PM. This one started standard, but then had a practical test with two problem-solving questions: 'what KPIs would you track?' and an A/B test on Excel. Lastly, I interviewed with the founder. It was like the PM interviews but they dug deeper into my experience and asked specific mobile-gaming questions.
- Which mobile game would you have preferred to create and why?
- What changes or new features would you suggest for game XXX?
- What are the key factors for a game's success or failure?
