The interview felt friendly but took a long time. They asked general questions about situations that could come up in the store or about my past experiences. I had to fill out a lot of forms. There was another person applying for a different job, a night assistant at the airport. It was my first interview in years, so I was a bit nervous. It can be nerve-wracking if it's your first time applying for a job in retail. They asked about my availability, and since I was at university and lived 30 minutes away, I stammered my answer. I didn't get the job even though the position was open for a while.

I applied online and got a call the next day to come in for an interview a few days later. When I got there, I went to the till to ask for the store manager and was led to a small room downstairs. I didn't wait long before it was just me and an interviewer. It was a really relaxed, friendly one-on-one chat, which helped a lot since it was my first interview. It felt more like a casual conversation as we went along. They said I'd hear back in a few days, and I'm posting this a day after.

The application process was easy. The interview itself didn't go so well for me. It was my very first interview and I was super nervous, which probably made me seem shy to the employer. Try to act confident and approachable, especially since the job involves talking to customers.
