First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Whole Foods Market.
Customer Support
I had a phone interview that was about 20 minutes. After that, I spoke with the hiring manager. Then, the manager of the department I'm joining called me back to ask some extra questions.
- Can you share an instance where you got feedback from a friend that was meant to help you improve?
Customer Service Team Leader
You need to be really familiar with the WFM Missions & Core Values. You'll have to assess who you'll be working with (STL, ASTL, Regional Coordinators, your future inherited team members, and the team's current status including successes and areas for improvement). We mostly promote from within. If you're new to the company, you need to thoroughly understand our website, truly believe in it, and then create an action plan for how you'd successfully transition into our company culture, especially coming from a non-WFM background.
- Which of the core values would you choose to eliminate, and what's your reasoning?
- What is the core value that resonates most with you, and could you explain why?
Customer Service Supervisor
The interview process involved a panel of employees including a Team Leader, two Associate TLs, and three team members. They asked standard questions like 'Why do you think you'd be a good fit?' and 'What do you feel could be improved upon within the department?'. The second half focused on hypothetical situations and how you'd handle them. Before the interview, it's highly recommended to talk with current supervisors, ATLs, your TL, and other team members to get their insights on what they look for in a supervisor and any advice they have on how to best fit the role.
- How would you deal with two very competent and highly skilled employees who are not getting along and it's becoming an issue?
