First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Whitney Museum.
Intern
The process involved an initial conversation where I was asked to introduce myself and explain my interest in the Whitney. Following that, I presented my design portfolio, showcasing my website and design projects.
- What makes you want to intern at the Whitney?
- Could you elaborate on your motivation for seeking an opportunity at the Whitney?
Intern
It was a single interview round with someone from the department I was interested in. It was pretty chill and conversational, mostly about my resume, and my good and bad points. The person interviewing me was nice and easy to chat with. They gave me a good idea of what the job would be like.
- Can you explain how your current studies connect with why you're interested in this role?
Intern
I first saw a posting for this internship on my graduate school's listserv, but it turned out that position was already taken. I then reapplied for a different, unpaid position. About a week later, I interviewed with the department head and two other people I'd be working with. I heard back about whether I got the position about a week after that.
- Which skill areas do you feel you are overly familiar with?
