The Whitepages interview process was one of the best I've ever had, thanks to recruiter Rachel VanderWel who made it seamless and fun. She was super responsive and kept in touch. Even without an offer, the experience itself was great because the team was so welcoming. It felt more like a conversation to see if it was a good mutual fit, rather than a stressful grilling. It was challenging but helpful in deciding if it was the right move for me. Overall, a wonderful interview experience at Whitepages.

I applied online and then had a quick HR screening call. After that, I spoke with my future manager for about 45 minutes. The following week, there was a combined in-person and phone interview with other team members and the team leader. Later that evening, I had an encouraging call with a VP, and I got the offer the very next day.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Started with a recruiter phone screen, then a hiring manager phone screen. After that, a 5 hour in-person interview. The recruiter was nice on the first call, which made me excited. But the hiring manager was hostile during their call, asking about my current company structure instead of focusing on my current or the role I was interviewing for. I was surprised I got an in-person after that. They make you fill out an online job application before the in-person where you have to put your past salary history and can't skip the field. During the in-person, the hiring manager asked few questions and spent most of our 45 minutes having me ask questions, which I saw as a bad sign. The presentation was tough because you don't know what they want. They say it's not about API, but you apparently need to understand API completely. The prep time they estimate isn't enough. I studied their services for an extra 6 hours, but the questions are too specific about data outputs. The recruiter was nice and pleasant throughout. However, all the time estimates they gave for getting back to me were missed, usually by a week or more. They claimed they called my phone on the day I was supposed to hear back, but didn't leave a voicemail and I have no record of a call. It took two more emails and another week to get an answer.
