First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at White & Case.
Associate
It was a long interview with native speakers and partners. They asked some interesting questions that were more about specific projects than general legal knowledge. I felt like they were really checking my weekend availability, and that ended up being the deciding factor, even though the projects sounded cool, the salary was good, and the team seemed nice.
- Tell me about the legal and technological aspects of your past projects.
- What is your availability like on weekends?
Summer Associate
Got an invite 3 weeks after the video interview. It was in-person at the Houston office. There were 4 interviews: first with 2 associates, then with 2 partners. One of the partners seemed really upset about something, which was a bit strange. About 2 weeks after that, we got the news.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- What draws you to Houston?
- Which areas of law do you find most intriguing?
Associate
The process was average. I spoke with 3 partners, one of whom was a group head. Each conversation lasted about 30 minutes. Mostly, we discussed my resume and deal sheet. There weren't many behavioral questions. Most of it focused on my past work experience, why I was looking to move laterally, and my reasons for pursuing this specific practice.
- Can you tell me about your background and previous work experience?
- Please walk me through your resume and deal sheet.
- What motivated your decision to seek a lateral move?
