Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WGSN.
Business Development Associate
It was one of the longest interview processes, lasting 8 months. Communication regarding next steps was poor, and I received very little feedback even when I asked for it throughout. I think the lack of HR or TA staff to manage the interview process makes it hard for them to find the right candidates and provide good experiences.
- Deliver a 30-minute sales pitch.
- Respond to resilient questions for 30 minutes.
- Answer scenario-based questions for 30 minutes.
Business Development Manager
I was working for Ascential events and then I moved into Ascential Intelligence. First, I got in touch with the recruitment manager and had a chat about the role. Then, she set up the first interview for me.
- Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
Business Development Associate
The interview process included three interviews: a screening meeting with a manager/head, and a presentation. The presentation topic was very vague and open-ended, requiring me to create my own sales pitch. Communication between interviews was slow, with weeks passing without updates. I reached the final interview and was told I'd hear back the following Monday after all interviews were done, but it's been three weeks and I still haven't heard back.
- Which sales influencers do you follow?
- Describe a time you overcame a challenge.
