Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Weyerhaeuser.
Accountant
Before actually talking to anyone, they first required a video recorded, one-way interview. It was just me and the camera, no one else. It felt like a psychology experiment because I didn't know who my audience was, which is usually set by the greetings in a normal interview. I could re-record my answers as many times as I wanted, so I either recorded it and left it, or I kept editing myself over and over. Because if you can do it many times, you start to wonder if they expect perfection. Also, since I was talking to no one, it felt like I needed to be an actor and pretend. While this process may help them get through many candidates quickly, it doesn't seem like the best approach.

Staff Accountant
I had an initial video interview. Then, there was a panel interview with 3 senior accountants where I was told immediately if I got the position. After that, a coffee chat with 3 supervisors. Finally, a final interview with 3 directors. Everyone was really friendly. I made it to the final round, but it's been 2 weeks and I haven't heard back, so I guess I didn't get it. It's a bummer because I really liked the company and the job, and I still haven't even gotten a rejection email after a 2-month interview process.
- Can you tell me about some projects you worked on, whether they were structured or not, and why they were set up that way?
Accountant
It was a panel of three interviewers asking questions over Microsoft Teams. They gave us an hour, but it only took about 30 minutes. There was also a part where we could ask our own questions.
- Can you tell me about your personality and team experiences?
