First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WestPoint Financial.
Financial Services Representative
The interview had 2 parts. First, a 1on1 with the campus recruiter to chat about basic stuff and interview questions. Second, I had to go to their office for a more detailed interview. They also made sure to have a newer employee there so I could ask them about their day-to-day or anything about the job. The people were nice and made sure I was comfortable and understood the role. The only bummer was feeling like they were holding back info, especially about pay. After the offer, I asked about salary and got a really confusing answer that didn't really explain it. I later found out it's mostly commission-based.
- How well do you maintain relationships with clients?
Financial Services Representative
The interview process at WestPoint was really structured. After each interview, they give you some written info to look at. The first booklet is about the company and Mass Mutual, which is their broker. The next interview is with a partner who does the recruiting. The third interview happens after you've both looked at the info and decided if it's a good fit. Before you can start your initial training, you need to give them market development & basic info so they can customize your training.
- Can you tell me about your previous employers?
- What personal qualities do you have that make you a good fit for this industry and agency?
Financial Advisor
The interview process at WestPoint Financial Group has 3 interviews. The first one is to get to know your career goals and see if we both want to move forward. We'll talk about the company's history and culture, the training, the support team, and what licenses you need. The second interview is to talk more about the career opportunity, understand your market potential, and answer any questions from the first interview. We'll discuss your marketing plan and give you some homework. You'll meet with an advisor too, not just the recruiter. The third interview is to finalize your target markets and make sure this is a good fit. We'll go over your homework, discuss your experience with it, and confirm you understand the pay, expenses, licensing, and what's expected.
- Would you be okay with reaching out to your friends and family for marketing purposes?
Financial Services Professional
The hiring process is quite straightforward. If you possess a college degree or have prior experience in financial services, they're likely to extend an offer. Since there's no requirement for a base salary, new hires aren't seen as a financial burden. It probably involves a phone screen, followed by a one-on-one interview, and then an offer.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
